Job Summary
We are seeking a Research Information Security Analyst to support research compliance and safeguard IT systems across a complex academic environment. This position is responsible for conducting technical security assessments of servers, endpoints, cloud platforms, and specialized laboratory equipment to ensure compliance with frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, DFARS, and other federal requirements. The role also manages vulnerability remediation efforts, reviews penetration testing and scan results, and partners with enterprise IT teams to design secure infrastructures that balance operational needs with regulatory obligations.

In addition, this position serves as a bridge between evolving federal cybersecurity policy and practical research workflows by translating regulations into actionable technical controls, providing training, and offering consultative guidance to faculty and staff. The role also maintains detailed documentation of compliance activities, prepares evidence for internal and external audits, and recommends process improvements to strengthen overall security posture. Success in this position requires strong technical expertise, an ability to communicate complex requirements clearly, and a collaborative approach to supporting research operations in a regulated environment.
