Overview
As the Executive Director of Operations for our Orchard Park, NY location you will be responsible for overall vision, planning, direction and control of the site. This key leadership role is accountable for the full P&L for the site. The responsibility of this role includes day-to-day leadership of the manufacturing, quality, EHS, and supply chain teams with diversified product lines in a high mix low volume environment. Responsible for driving key performance metrics centered on safety, compliance, on-time delivery, quality, customer responsiveness, profitability, operational excellence, and effective use of technology. Will lead and champion lean engagement and identify opportunities to increase manufacturing capacity while preserving overall flexibility, anticipating and responding to global market demands. Additionally, this key Business Leader, in collaboration with other functionals leaders, will drive the strategic agenda for Orchard Parks growth and profitability as it relates to Operations, Business Development, Engineering, Program Management, Prototype Development, and Customer Service. Bottom line is this person will own the business performance of the site including P&L and provide leadership for all functions within the four walls. This is a high visibility leadership position within the Value Center with potential for upward mobility within the corporation.
Responsibilities- Champion and drive operational strategy, direction, and focus for Orchard Park site including rapid deployment of lean and automation actions.
- Establish a strong culture of World-Class Manufacturing to reduce product cost and lead times, increase throughput, and improve quality.
- Interact with customers on design, quality, cost, and delivery initiatives along with working with Business Development to identify and win new opportunities to grow the site.
- Accountability for P&L and overall operational metrics including inventory, safety, quality, on-time delivery, and production costs for Orchard Park site
- Develop and nurture an environment of collaboration and accountability by building and maintaining a world class team.Be a key member of the Control Technologies leadership team including developing strategies and executing those strategies to drive above market growth.
- Own the formulation of annual operating and capital budgets of 1-3M for the site.
- Ownership to align the efforts of our global sales force with site engineering, prototype development, manufacturing, and customer service resources, enabling them to achieve and exceed revenue, market share and/or margin targets.
- This position will be a key leader developing the overall strategy and direction of the CT business working closely with the VP/GM
Qualifications- Requires BS degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, or relevant technical discipline. MBA is highly desirable.
- Must have 10+ years’ experience with progressively more responsibility and experience in manufacturing environments with P&L leadership of at least $25M or more in a previous role.
- Must have demonstrated ability to drive orders, sales, operating income, and cash flow; accurately and proactively communicate budgets, forecasts, outlooks, opportunity pipelines, potential gaps, and remedies.
- 8+ years of demonstrated leadership skills with a broader knowledge of management practices, business judgement and client/customer interactions.
- Proven record of experience creating and maintaining World-Class Manufacturing environments with demonstrated ability to reduce product cost and lead times, increase throughput, and improve quality
- Prior responsibilities should include:
- Significant participation in a company’s strategic planning process and preparation of departmental budgets and operating plans
- Demonstrated ability to develop, mentor, unify, and lead a site with diversified product lines.
- Ability to work and lead in a matrixed environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Finance and Accounting due to P&L responsibility for this position
- Strong skills in manufacturing management and orderly, disciplined safety and quality processes, with the emphasis being placed on timely delivery of quality products to customers.
- LEAN Manufacturing principles, employing Kaizen and the 6S methodology with demonstrated successful applications.
- Exposure and presentations to C-Level leaders in a business environment

- Ensure annual site goals are defined, implemented, and achieved while driving continuous improvements and action plans through utilization of Technology, Lean Principles, and collaboration with internal and external departments.
