Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist, with limited supervision, is responsible for the successful management of Human Resources practices and policies for assigned groups. The area of responsibilities may include recruitment and employment, benefits, team member relations, Administer Human Resources activities such as recruiting, employment, benefits, team member relations and administration of Company policies and established practices. Additionally, this role supports Office Administrative duties for the Human Resources Manager, Plant Manager and production facility management.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential)

Recruitment/Employment/Office Administration

  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date Human Resources records*.
  2. Ability to utilize HRIS for reports, projects and information gathering and processing*
  3. Coordinates w management on open positions, review job descriptions and confirm skills required.*
  4. Responsible for recruiting in accordance with established Affirmative Action Program (AAP) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws and expedites fair and consistent hiring principles and processes.*
  5. Reviews qualifications of candidates responding to job postings; makes recommendations to hiring manager.*
  6. Coordinates and schedules interviews and participates in interview process, using appropriate interviewing techniques.
  7. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records on all employment matters, maintaining compliance with Affirmative Action Program.*
  8. Schedules and coordinates post-offer, pre-employment testing.*
  9. Organization and coordinating administrative duties and office procedures.
  10. Acts as facility receptionist and administrative assistant for the Plant Manager.
  11. Supports administrative needs of the facility management team. Work to ensure high levels of organizational effectiveness w a cost-effective approach creatively saving Company funds.
  12. The point person for mailing, office supplies, office equipment, travel arrangement, meeting scheduling, very light finance and accounting support.
  13. Manage contract & price negotiation w office vendors/service providers. Liaise w facility mgmt. vendors, including janitorial and security services.

On-Boarding

  1. Takes new team member through the on-boarding process, ensuring successful transition into the organization; including conducting both new hire and benefits orientations.*

Benefits Administration

  1. Assists with annual open enrollment, including communications with team members on plan implementation.

Human Relations

  1. Focus on upholding and maintaining as positive of relations w all Team Members at all levels as practicable.
  2. Maintain and communicate disciplinary actions for Team Members with Supervisor/Manager & HR Mgr.*

Special Location/Position Requirements:

This position is a plant level position. The role is onsite in Jacksonville, AR. Candidates from metropolitan Little Rock, AR area highly preferred.

Job Specifications (Work Experience, Skills, Abilities, etc.)

  • Strong attention to detail is required. Administrative experience in an office/plant environment a must.
  • One to three years previous Human Resources experience, preferably in a plant environment.
  • Previous experience w human labor relations, nonunion (primarily) & union experience a plus.
  • General knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures, EEO, AAP, and employment
  • Good time management skills with ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-task environment.
  • Professional demeanor w ability to maintain integrity & confidentiality of Human Resources/Company matters.
  • Team player with positive “can-do” attitude.
  • Proven strong work ethic with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Excellent computer skills required. High proficiency in MS Office, Excel and Outlook amongst others.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required. Nonverbal communication awareness a plus.
  • Previous Human Resources work experience in recruitment and employment necessary.

Education Requirements:

Associates degree preferred. Bachelors degree in Business/Communication/Psychology a plus.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

Normal office conditions. Office may be located in a multi-level office building. Job demands may require long periods of sitting, telephone work and/or computer work, as well as interaction with other people. Normal office conditions include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting, driving and/or traveling.
