Costing Analyst - Military veterans preferred

PDS Optical is seeking a dependable, results-driven individual to work in our Optical Lab as a Full-Time Costing Analyst!

The Costing Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining a Lens, Frame, and Lab consumables catalog by vendor with both pricing as well as availability options.

This position requires at least 6 months of mass manufacturing experience, optical is preferred but not required. This position requires proficiency Office Suites, and must have the ability to multitask, problem solve and work fast but accurately.

This is a full-time position with the hours from 7:30am – 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. The starting pay for this position will be based off experience and discussed during the interview.

 Essential Functions

• Gain and maintain familiarity with the current lens, frame and consumables catalogs to understand our status with each vendor.
• Understand usage with each vendor and where to pull this information regularly.
• Seek to understand the individual contracts we have and what we are able and not able to offer.
• Seek to refine our existing catalogs in a “pick list-like” format with options i.e., best option, next best, etc.
• Regularly check our invoices and statements against our negotiated pricing with each vendor
• Keep catalog pricing current in our LMS system to ensure we have up-to-date costing information loaded at all times.
• Seek creative solutions for how to keep our COGS and consumables cost down.
• Collaborate with our developers to automate invoice and statement reconciliation against negotiated pricing.
• Collaborate with Supervisors and Managers to understand the current as-is situation in each of the respective areas.

Work environment

This position operates mostly in an office setting located adjacent to an optical laboratory. The temperature can vary, the noise level such as phones ringing may be slightly distracting. This position also requires working in close proximity to a diverse group of other co-workers.
