ResponsibilitiesShawmut is a proven leader in creating accident free work zones, and this person will continue Shawmut's success in creating a safe construction environment by working as part of the larger safety team, drawing on past experience and always looking for new, improved safety methods.
- Provide structure around site safety with superintendent and subcontractors
- Raise awareness of potential hazards that exist on a jobsite with owner by reviewing what can be done to minimize risk
- Conduct regular safety audits throughout the duration of a project assessing all safety related issues and follow up with the project team
- Assist subcontractors with site safety needs via tool box talks, safety check lists, job hazard analysis, etc.
- Communicate directly with subcontractors to discuss concerns and Shawmut's expectations
- Maintain the information technology and systems that are essential to capture and analyze key data, present reporting and communicate effectively
- Develop and maintaining strong relationships with every member of the project team, subcontractors and clients
- Conduct new hire safety orientations
- Uphold Shawmut Values and 16 Best Practices
Qualifications- Extensive knowledge of OSHA construction standards
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or related experience preferred
- Prior safety or construction-related internship a plus
