Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director, Enterprise Applications Solutions, the Enterprise Integration and Application Developer will be responsible for developing and supporting over 60 application integrations in a complex environment including both SaaS and cloud-based systems such as Workday, Slate, and Brightspace. The role will also contribute to mission critical efforts to develop a modern integrations environment.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills and extensive experience developing integrations between applications and within a data lake environment. The Enterprise Integration and Application Developer will have solid, hands-on experience with SQL, XSL, PLSQL, web services, JSON, API development, and tools that are used to extract, transform, and manage data. The ideal candidate will have strong communications skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical staff in multiple business areas.

Essential Duties

This role is responsible for hands on sourcing, manipulation, and delivery of data between enterprise business systems in collaboration with a small integrations team. This role will troubleshoot and support enterprise applications and their data integrations and feeds to ensure that committed service levels are being met and corrective actions are implemented when they are not. This role will work closely with business analysts, the data warehouse team, and staff in multiple departments across the university.

Key duties include:

  • Participating in ongoing data modernization and integration re-platforming program at Bentley to simplify, streamline and modernize the current integrations environment.

  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of cloud-based applications and developing minor/moderate customizations or scripts to address business needs.

  • Sourcing data from enterprise business systems and designing and deploying processes to extract and load data between source and target systems.

  • Engaging and collaborating early on new projects to understand application and integration requirements and to map them into the existing integration and application architecture at Bentley.

  • Day-to-day monitoring and support of applications and existing integration jobs and other scheduled data jobs to alert, identify, and mitigate data quality and data integrity issues.

  • Design and implementation of data movement monitoring processes and alerts.

  • Troubleshooting of application and data issues reported by business departments and collaboration with users to identify and mitigate root causes.

  • Collaborating with other IT teams and data security teams in securing and managing Bentley data.

  • Working closely with data governance team members to develop catalogs, dictionaries, and other tools to manage data definitions at Bentley.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 3-5 years related experience.

  • Proven experience with integration methodologies such as SQL, Python, XSL, Web Services, APIs, and GraphQL.

  • Solid command of current integrations best practices and governance models.

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot application issues, existing integrations, data flows, and data transformations.

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with both IT colleagues, business analysts, analytics staff, and business users across the organization.

  • Ability to understand and synthesize data and transformation requirements working with business users.

  • Ability to write, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with SQL.

  • Experience with cloud-based systems – SaaS, PaaS, and understanding of industry-standard enterprise application support and data management practices.

  • Knowledge of custom application development design patterns.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of modern, iPaaS tools such as Snaplogic.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft data management tools (Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Power BI).

  • Higher education experience preferred, but not required.

  • Workday experience preferred, but not required.

Work Environment

  • Typical office setting with extensive sitting and computer work.

  • Ability to travel around campus for meetings and other work-related events.

  • This role offers a flexible work arrangement, combining in-person attendance with remote work. On-site presence is required based on business needs, team collaboration, or scheduled meetings. Scheduling specifics will be determined in conjunction with the manager. As with any flexible arrangement, this is subject to change based on business needs.
