Overview

Sev1Tech is seeking a System Administrator to support the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic) Expeditionary Enterprise Systems and Services (E2S2) Division. NIWC Atlantic provides design, acquisition, and sustainment services for Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) Information Technology (IT) systems.

 

Other duties as assigned by management.



Responsibilities

  • Active Top Secret Level Clearance
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems; and dependent on task, individual shall meet the latest Cybersecurity workforce certification/training in accordance with DoD 8570.1M and subsequent DoD 8140 manual as applicable.
  • Seven (7) years with Master’s or 11 years with Bachelor’s degree of professional experience in systems administration to include supporting daily operational requirements of computer network systems including workstation, file servers, and web servers

  • Cybersecurity workforce certification/training in accordance with DoD 8570.1M and subsequent DoD 8140 manual, as applicable. (i.e. CompTIA A+ CE, Network+ CE, Security+ CE, CISSP, and GSEC)
  • Installation of hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, network security, and web page design, interface and updates, and local system design documentation

  • Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and implementing network security tools including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection services

  • Capable of training staff on software applicable to their position, assisting customers with information technology, monitoring system configuration (hardware and software), and providing instruction on computers and applications

  • Windows OS Basics - Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows and/or Server
  • Active Directory Basics - Logging in users, resetting passwords, understanding user accounts

  • Basic Networking - IP addresses, DNS, and how network issues affect virtual desktops

  • Troubleshooting skills  - use log files, event history, and version control to trace issues

  • Patch Management - applying updates to fix security vulnerabilities, bugs, and performance issues

  • End User Device Management

Minimal travel – three or four week-long trips per year CONUS

On-site at bldg. 198, 4 days a week in North Charleston, SC
