Job purpose
Responsibilities include a variety of activities ranging from; measurement of product against design specifications based on a combination of inspection plans and print data, helping to setup inspection plans, generation and storage of quality records, maintain inspection equipment, assisting with non-conformance material process, help maintain the QMS system, and other items as required.
Duties and responsibilities
Perform any QA Technician related tasks as needed in support of meeting the company quality objectives.
Audit incoming materials, manufactured components, and finished goods for conformance to internal and/or customer requirements utilizing SPC tools or AQL inspection.
Responsible for generation and storage of quality related records including the maintaining of raw material certifications.
Provide shop floor support to resolve daily product and process related issues.
Modify / Develop inspection plans for both supplied and manufactured materials ensuring compliance to customer drawings and PO requirements.
Receive and control limited life components to ensure compliance with specified expiration dates.
Programming & operation of the Zeiss CMM / Vicivission Scanner as needed.
Interface with purchasing, engineering and suppliers in support of discrepant material resolution.
Control and maintain the nonconformance report system and material rejections.
Maintain MSDS database and properly identify safety characteristics of incoming materials and chemicals.
Participate in the maintenance of the QMS program.
Review quality documentation to ensure conformance.
Assist with the preparation and completion of First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102.
Maintain inspection equipment and tool calibration log and schedule/test calibration to ensure equipment is working properly and within calibration.
Obtain DQR Certification
Ensure flow-down requirements are being satisfied by suppliers during incoming inspection
Mentor / Train personnel on the production floor and other technicians in proper quality practices.
Assist with the maintenance of the corporate MSDS database.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate degree in technical field or equivalent technical and or work experience.
2-5 years of experience in design or manufacturing environment.
Experience with quality inspection equipment including go/no go, pin gauges, calipers, etc.
Ability to use and program Coordinate Measurement Machines.
Ability to read and understand product drawings & GD&T fluently.
Knowledge of computer software programs including Microsoft Office ( Word/ PowerPoint/ Excel)
Experience with usage of inspection techniques and knowledge of statistical sampling plans.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, and interact well with all levels of personnel including suppliers and customers.
Knowledge of AS9100 Standard.
Have excellent decision-making, communication and organizational skills
Be able to manage multiple tasks and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously and have a strong sense of urgency.
Be self-motivated, focused, and detail oriented with a positive attitude.
Working conditions
May be exposed to industrial oils, toner, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesive and other chemicals. NOTE: All safety precautions will be used.
Physical requirements
Could require intermittent and long periods of sitting and/or standing.
Required to do repetitive work.
Periodic lifting of materials not to exceed 50 pounds.
3rd shift - Sunday thru Thursday 9:30 pm to 6:00 am
