This position offers significant variety and intellectual challenge, making it ideal for a professional who seeks diverse responsibilities and continuous learning opportunities.

Portfolio Risk Management

  • Risk Rating Oversight: In concert with the Chief Credit Officer-CCF, serve as subject matter expert on risk rating methodology, ensuring consistent application and leading periodic calibration exercises

  • Watch List Management: In concert with the Chief Credit Officer-CCF, lead watch list processes, including early identification of deteriorating credits and coordination with Special Assets Group as necessary

  • Regulatory Compliance: Serve as primary liaison with regulators during portfolio examinations and ensure adherence to regulatory guidance

  • Concentration Management: Monitor and report on concentration limits by industry, geography, and individual obligors, advising management on portfolio diversification strategies

  • Portfolio Reporting: Produce comprehensive portfolio analysis reports for senior management and board presentations as requested

Portfolio Surveillance & Covenant Management

  • Annual Review Coordination: Lead and underwrite annual reviews across the portfolio, ensuring consistent quality and timely completion while maintaining direct customer relationships where appropriate

  • Covenant Tracking Leadership: Lead management of systematic covenant tracking processes, working closely with Credit Administration and Financial Operations to establish proper monitoring protocols

  • Activity Tracking & Reporting: Oversee comprehensive activity tracking systems for all portfolio monitoring requirements, ensuring timely identification of exceptions and covenant violations

  • Early Warning Systems: Work on helping to develop early warning indicators and surveillance reporting to proactively identify potential credit issues

Complex Transaction Underwriting

  • Large/Complex Deal Underwriting: Serve as underwriter for transactions requiring specialized expertise

  • Industry Specialization: Develop expertise in specific industry verticals and serve as a go-to underwriter for those sectors

  • Credit Structure Innovation: Work with relationship managers to develop credit structures for unique situations while maintaining sound risk principles

  • Due Diligence Leadership: Lead complex due diligence efforts including site visits, management interviews, and third-party report coordination as required

Strategic Initiatives & Special Projects

  • Policy Development: In concert with the Chief Credit Officer-CCF, ensure adherence to credit policy, underwriting standards, and portfolio management procedures, bringing audit and examination perspective to future policy creation efforts

  • SOX Compliance: Assist with SOX-related activities and policy development, particularly around credit risk management and internal controls

  • Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance credit processes, implement new technologies, and improve operational efficiency

  • Regulatory Projects: Lead responses to regulatory initiatives and examination findings

  • Training & Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to credit officers on complex underwriting techniques and portfolio risk considerations where there is expertise
