SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified SONAR Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW)/ Minefield Subject Matter Expert.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP's Platforms Business Area is seeking a SONAR Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW)/ Minefield Subject Matter Expert. The candidate will leverage their tactical and technical operational experience to provide expertise to NUWCNPT RI and Undersea Warfighting Development Center (UWDC) Headquarters in Groton, CT, supporting the enhancement of warfighting systems with a focus on anti-submarine warfare (ASW).

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • A primary responsibility will be serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the development of a new, cost-effective training minefield. This involves a comprehensive assessment of factors such as Mine Shapes, Locations, Density, and Case Depths, while developing innovative and cost-effective deployment and recoverability methods.
  • The training minefield design will incorporate the latest advancements and adhere to all relevant environmental considerations, including minimizing disruption to marine ecosystems and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Candidate will contribute to the Platform Test and Evaluation Team by assisting with test planning, training, execution, and reporting as requested by the NUWCDIVNPT Trials Manager and Test Directors.
  • This tasking supports NUWCNPT, with close coordination with the UWDC and Fleet Representatives to ensure all stakeholder objectives are considered.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline.

Experience: Twentyplus years of SONAR experience, including either operational, test anddevelopment experience.

Ideal Skills and Experience:

  • Priorexperience working with the UWDC program, or similar strategic developmentcenters, with a strong emphasis on SONAR and Mine warfare.

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
