JobSummary:

StructuralDesigner experienced with preparing layouts and designs of complexoffshore/onshore structural systems utilizing Company 2D and 3D modelingsoftware. They may occasionally be called upon to function as a Project Leadresponsible for leading a group of drafters, Drafting Checker and orCoordinator on Project(s).

JobDuties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare 3D models and drawings for assignedprojects from sketches or SACs model output files and/or verbal instructions;

• Manage Project Work Flow to ensure projectcompletion and adherence to project schedules;

• Monitor and mentor the drafters assigned totheir project;

• Assist in evaluating and determining manpowerrequirements for their projects;

• Draft technical details and specifydimensions, materials;

• Edit drawings and incorporate changes fromprovided markups and/or verbal instructions;

• Create material lists and weight reportsutilizing 3D model or manually when required;

• Check drawings and other documents related tothe task being performed; verifying correctness and thoroughness fits withinproject's intent and 3D model/design drawings;

• Review information received from design teammembers, question inconsistencies, apparent errors, and omissions;

• Interact with design team and clients forresolving drafting/design related issues;

• Ensure that all drawings adhere to Client,Industry and Company Standards;

• Possibly be utilized as a Checker ofStructural Design drawings and or layouts;

• Maintain project files and folders and followcompany standards;

• Assist in preparing man-hour estimates,budgets and schedules for their respective discipline;

• Responsible for keeping their Project Engineerand direct Supervisors updated on any and all concerns relating to theirrespective assignments and discipline;

• Perform field work as required to obtainaccurate information and create sketches for the design of the project.Duration determined by the project requirements and project management.

Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

• Requires a minimum of (15) years' experienceof structural drafting and design experience with engineering projects in theoffshore oil & gas industry;

• Up to five (5) years' experience in onshore orrelated industry may be considered towards the total fifteen (15) years ofrequired experience;

• Must have working knowledge of MS Office Suiteof products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook);

• Proficient with design software i.e. (AutoCAD,Advance Steel and Navisworks, PDMS and E3D)

• Must have a working knowledge of AISC, AWS,API RP 2A, and OSHA standards;

• Must have working knowledge of AISC steelmembers and AWS weld symbols;

• Familiarity with project systems to includecivil, structural, mechanical, and electrical components to allowconsiderations of those aspects into structural design as required;

• Ability and availability to work occasionalovertime to include weekends as dictated by project requirements;

• The ability to interact with all levels ofstaff.

WorkingConditions:

• Work is primarily conducted in an officeenvironment (Private or Semi-Private office) but also requires occasionaltravel to off-site work locations.

• Field duties require outdoor work in a plantor offshore platform atmosphere;

• Interaction with other team members, as wellas supervisors and client personnel;

• Working offshore or in plant and/or shop areasaround production machinery with extreme noise levels;

• Must be able to wear safety equipment asrequired by the safety department for personal protection;

• May be at more than one job site in a day andmust be able to tolerate climate changes;

• May be required to travel out of town on aperiodic basis.

  • Must be able to lift and carry twenty (20) pounds;
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits employee to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;

  • Sufficient manual dexterity which permit the employee to perform routine office duties;
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
