Driver - Military veterans preferred

To Drive light automotive equipment such as automobiles, vans, or small trucks, when not so engaged, to perform manual labor tasks, and to do related work as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform miscellaneous duties, such as carrying mail to and from post office, helping delivery of supplies, etc.
2. Keep vehicle clean, polished, and in operating condition.
3. Assist supply clerk with heavy work.
4. Report any malfunctions of vehicles immediately to Supervisor.
5. Use courtesy at all times to deal tactfully with people sometimes under stressful conditions.
6. Assist elderly and infirm patients in and out of vehicle.
7. Maintain confidentiality at all levels of interaction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education - High school diploma or equivalency.

Experience - Such as may have been gained through employment as an operator of motor equipment.

Must have a thorough knowledge of the State laws pertaining to the operation of motor vehicles on the highway; the ability to follow oral or written instructions; and related capacities and abilities.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Possession of a valid Rhode Island license and good driving record.
2. Must take a Red Cross course in first aid.
