Position Title: VP – Information Technology

 

Position Overview

This position is responsible will be primarily responsible for assuring that the Company has the business information systems, intelligence and analytics to successfully manage its commercial operations.  

This individual will also be the most senior Information technology position in the company and will be charged with (i) working with senior management in assessing the information needs of the overall business, (ii) identifying, implementing, managing and continuously improving the necessary IT systems and resources to meet those needs (iii) supporting the goals of the organization and (iv) proactively identifying cutting edge technologies and processes  with the integration of external data to increase the speed and quality of actionable information to support planned rapid US and international expansion.  

The VP – IT will initially serve as project manager for the Company’s ERP implementation and, with the Company’s leadership team, be responsible for successful and timely deployment to support commercial operations.  This role will also align each department with the capabilities delivered by information technology and will be responsible for proactively maximizing the use of the ERP system by all relevant departments to drive business efficiency.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Proactively provide the Company’s leadership team with IT systems recommendations to inform decision making.
  • Assure that the Company’s IT group aggressively maintains a “customer-service” focus; customers being the leadership team and employees of the Company 
  • Manage the Company’s  ERP and other information Technology systems 
  • Provide oversight of IT enterprise architecture program 
  • Proactively provide the Company’s leadership with real-time business intelligence
  • Develop business performance reporting resources, metrics and KPI’s
  • Develop predictive and prescriptive analytics 
  • Business Analytics using data mined from ERP system and external data
  • Support the Company’s Marketing group’s efforts to gather and analyze competitive intelligence
  • Integrate external data with internal data and systems for purposes of business analysis. 
  • Usability and user experience design
  • Able to build stand-alone business reports via programming (SSRS, etc.) 

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • 10+ years of relevant business experience.
  • Able to communicate with business users at all levels of the organization, interpret their needs and ensure that they are satisfied with the outcome. 
  • Comfortable working in white space areas where both short-term and long-term foundational decisions need to be made.  
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Programming ability.
  • Strong service focus towards both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to provide highly accurate, rapid support for business users at multiple organizational levels. 
  • Highly collaborative team player that places the interests of the organization first.
  • Able to drive and execute an agenda in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. 
  • Track record of leading and managing change.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and solve operational challenges. 
  • Hands-on worker; self-starter.
  • Ability and desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong communication (written and oral), interpersonal & presentation skills.

Working Conditions

This position works in a home office or Corporate Office. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate. 

 

Primary Location and Travel

  • We anticipate that on an ongoing basis this role will be a home-office or Corporate Office based position 
  • Up to 10-20% travel to National Sales Meetings or other scheduled meetings
