Description

We are seeking a visionary Enterprise Data Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge, cloud-first data solutions. This role is pivotal in driving our data strategy, ensuring scalability, security, and innovation in a rapidly evolving healthcare technology landscape. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud platforms like AWS and Snowflake (or similar), experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) data, and a working understanding of HL7and FHIR data protocols.

You will play a key role in building robust data pipelines, designing systems to ingest and process unstructured data (e.g., images, PDFs), and transforming it into structured data products. Familiarity with tools like Intellicare or IRIS from Intersystems, as well as experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, will be advantageous. This position can support telework up to 90% with 10% travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture Leadership:

  • Design and implement enterprise-level data architectures that align with business goals and cloud-first strategies.
  • Develop and deploy data fabric/data mesh solutions for the enterprise, enabling decentralized data ownership and governance.
  • Lead the adoption and migration to modern data platforms, including AWS, Snowflake, and Salesforce Data Cloud.

EHR Data Expertise:

  • Architect solutions for ingesting, processing, and analyzing EHR data, ensuring compliance with HL7 and FHIR standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to integrate clinical data into analytics platforms.

Data Pipeline Development:

  • Build scalable, efficient data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform structured and unstructured data.
  • Develop systems to extract text content from unstructured data sources (e.g., PDFs, images) and load it into structured data products like Intellicare or IRIS.

Integration Frameworks:

  • Build and maintain integration frameworks connecting Salesforce with AWS services (S3, Redshift, Lambda, SQL DBs) and EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner) using FHIR / HL7 standards.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between AWS services (S3, Redshift, Lambda, SQL DBs), Snowflake, and other enterprise systems.

Cloud-First Strategy:

  • Drive the migration of legacy systems to cloud platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
  • Optimize data storage and processing in AWS and Snowflake environments.

Governance & Compliance:

  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise requirements for scalability, security, performance, and compliance.
  • Maintain architecture artifacts, solution diagrams, and integration documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, enterprise security policies, and healthcare data privacy standards.

Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders, to deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Mentor and guide junior architects and engineers in best practices for data architecture and cloud technologies.
