POSITION DESCRIPTION – LEAD MPA AIRFRAME & POWERPLANT MECHANIC
Job Title: Lead MPAAirframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic
Reports to: Director of Maintenance
Classification: Exempt
Time Commitment: Full-Time Daily Rate-Rotational
Position Summary
The Lead Mechanic on the BT67 MPA Program will supervise the Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanics and Avionics Technicians for our maintenance team responsible for ensuring the assigned aircraft are maintained in accordance with FAA standards and all logbook and company reporting requirements are met. Evaluates aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts to ensure safe flying and conformance to specifications and government regulations and procedures. This position is held responsible for the program's safety performance and will create and implement a framework of policies and procedures that advance the company’s safety objectives, demonstrate a visible commitment to employee and client well-being, and promote a safety culture within the program. This role will include both administrative responsibilities and participation in specialized maintenance tasks as required.
Essential Functions
Ensure all Company aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition.
Ensure all inspections, repairs, and component changes are accomplished in accordance with the manufacturers or FAA approved procedures.
Ensure all aircraft are returned to service in accordance with appropriate Company policies.
Ensure all Company maintenance technicians are properly certified and supervised according to current FARs and General Maintenance manual.
Coordinate with contracting maintenance agencies when maintenance activities are performed on Company aircraft.
Provide the clients with current airworthy status of the aircraft and the forecast down times to facilitate maintenance scheduling and ensure timely deferral or correction of aircraft discrepancies.
Maintain close liaison with aircraft manufacturer's representatives, part's suppliers, approved repair stations, and FAA.
Maintain necessary work records, including certification in aircraft’s permanent records that aircraft is approved for return to service.
Has authority to evaluate and make recommendations to other management personnel.
Maintain current knowledge of repairs, replacements, assembly and installation of aircraft parts in order to provide technical support and customer service on a daily basis.
Lead coaching/development of employees within program, including conducting performance evaluations and employee development plans.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Assist the Director with supervision of all A&P Mechanics and Avionics Technicians on the BT67 MPA Program.
Assists with performance evaluations and other supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
U.S. citizenship.
Current US Passport
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience.
FAA issued Airframe & Powerplant Certification.
Additional aircraft-specific certifications as required.
Possess and maintain all required licenses and certifications.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
Ability to successfully pass a drug test.
Travel
Must have a valid passport and be able to travel and deploy rotationally throughout the U.S. and internationally, including to remote and austere environments.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a variety of physical conditions, including austere conditions;
Ability to wear respirator or other required safety equipment;
Ability to work in confined spaces;
Ability to lift 100 lbs.
