Detroit Defense is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Systems Administrator to oversee, optimize, and support our Deltek Costpoint and related financial systems environment. 


The Financial Systems Administrator will serve as the primary subject matter expert for Deltek Costpoint and associated modules, working closely with finance, accounting, contracts, HR, and IT teams. The role will be responsible for user administration, system configuration, reporting, process improvements, and ensuring compliance with government contracting requirements (FAR, DFARS, CAS, DCAA).

  • Act as the system owner and administrator for Deltek Costpoint and associated applications (e.g., Time & Expense, Cognos, BI tools).
  • Manage user access, roles, permissions, and security protocols.
  • Provide day-to-day support, troubleshooting, and resolution for system issues, coordinating with Deltek support and IT as needed.
  • Maintain system documentation, workflows, and user guides.
  • Configure and maintain Costpoint modules including General Ledger, Projects, Contracts, Billing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Fixed Assets.
  • Partner with Finance, HR, and Contracts teams to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and support business needs.
  • Evaluate and implement new Costpoint features, upgrades, patches, and integrations.
  • Manage testing, validation, and deployment of system updates.
  • Develop and maintain standard and ad hoc reports using Cognos, Costpoint dashboards, and other BI/reporting tools.
  • Ensure data accuracy and system integrity across multiple divisions and business units.
  • Provide analytics and reporting support for corporate FP&A, accounting, contracts, and program finance teams.
  • Support DCAA audits, incurred cost submissions, and compliance reporting through accurate system data.
  • Conduct training sessions and create user-friendly documentation for system processes.
  • Support onboarding and training of new finance/accounting system users.
  • Serve as a liaison between finance teams and IT for financial system-related initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to obtain a Common Access Card, Government Security Clearance and maintain a clearance. 
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint administration (user setup, module configuration, reporting, and upgrades).
  • Strong understanding of financial processes within a federal government contracting environment.
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA audit requirements as they relate to system administration.
  • Proficiency in Cognos or other Costpoint-compatible reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred

  • Background in multi-division/multi-entity environments.
  • Experience integrating Costpoint with HR, payroll, or external systems.
