About the Role:

As the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, you’ll lead JSX’s safety and environmental compliance strategy across all operations. You’ll develop and implement health and safety programs, monitor compliance, and champion a culture of safety throughout the organization. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and hands-on leadership to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace for all Crewmembers.


You’ll partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, and People teams to ensure our facilities, processes, and policies meet all applicable OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards while promoting continuous improvement and accountability in every aspect of safety.


A Day in the Life:

You’ll…


  • Lead the development and execution of JSX’s EHS strategy to maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Oversee injury data submission to OSHA, Bureau of Labor & Statistics, and required EPA reporting (e.g., fuel spills, potable water testing, etc.).
  • Partner across teams to implement and monitor safety programs and corrective actions.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and training to reinforce a proactive and compliant safety culture.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend sustainable solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries, audits, and inspections.
  • Evaluate and maintain Station Emergency Response Programs across JSX facilities.
  • Collaborate with HR to analyze injury trends and develop reduction strategies.

  • A Day in the Life:
    Program Leadership & Compliance
  • Develop, implement, and maintain JSX’s EHS programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
  • Lead regulatory reporting, including OSHA 300 logs, EPA submissions, and incident investigations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to ensure all facilities meet safety standards.

  • Training & Culture Development:
  • Design and deliver safety training programs to enhance awareness and reduce incidents.
  • Promote a culture of safety ownership through leadership engagement and consistent communication.
  • Lead safety meetings, corrective action planning, and follow-up assessments.

  • Incident Management & Continuous Improvement:
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures.
  • Analyze safety data to identify trends and develop strategic improvements.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to evaluate and refine emergency response procedures.

  • Regulatory & Cross-Functional Partnership:
  • Serve as JSX’s subject matter expert for all regulatory inquiries or investigations.
  • Partner with HR, Operations, and Facilities to align EHS initiatives with business goals.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance and readiness for internal and external audits.

  • Required Education & Experience:
    Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing Environmental Health and Safety programs for a medium to large employer, preferably in aviation or a similar industry.
  • Strong experience with OSHA, EPA, and DOT compliance, including audits, reporting, and program implementation.
  • Proven success developing and executing safety programs that reduce incidents and improve compliance.

  • Licenses & Certifications:
  • OSHA 30, OSHA 501 certification required.

  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills for managing risk and compliance metrics.
  • Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated leader capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree specifically in Safety or Environmental Sciences.
  • Additional certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH, or CHMM
  • CPR Training

  • Pay & Perks
  • Compensation is $85,000 - $95,000 /annually. This was established after performing market research and is aligned with our approach to compensation.
