CNC Field Service Technician

Installs, repairs and tests mechanical equipment, CNC machinery, and components. Identifies parts for replacement on equipment and requests orders to be placed as necessary. Familiar with a variety of Field Service concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Essential Functions

? Be supportive of other team member?s goals and needs.
? Identify and recommend process improvements to your RFSM.
? Maintain proper tools to complete jobs.
? Maintain proper van inventory. (if issued a van)
? Reconcile van inventory monthly. Email any discrepancies to the warehouse.
? Keep van clean and organized
? Return all parts noted to be returned to office. Contact the office upon completion of the job to pickup
larger parts. Note size of container and estimated weight.
? If issued a van, perform regular maintenance (oil, tires, etc.). Work with management for approval and
? Re-sync Field Aware frequently throughout the day to ensure accurate scheduling information. Ensure you
are syncing after 5pm and/or before you leave for 1st call
? Review job to verify you have the proper tools and parts, notify the office if you need to go to the office
before going to Service call.
? Call customer in advance to verify machine problem still exists and to confirm machine availability.
? Arrive at customer by 7am or agreed upon time
? Sign in at Customers front desk and follow any/all customer protocol for entering and leaving their facility.
? Meet with customer contact to review the machine issue.
? Verify machine serial number.
? Identify problem with customer?s machine and ask questions if you?re not sure.
? Repair problem. Order parts needed to repair if repairs cannot be done without parts. Provide reason for
ordering part(s) and note shipment method for part(s) on job report discussed with customer. Verify all
expedited shipping requests with scheduling to confirm Service engineer availability.
? Upon completion, run performance tests to verify all issues are resolved. Have the customer present if
? Complete job work order, review with customer and obtain an authorized signature before leaving their
facility. Email customer a copy of the Service report before you exit.
? Contact the office (text, email, phone) when job is complete. Notify the office as soon as you know a call
will not be completed that day (or by 2pm) to update the schedule.
? If any type of further Service is required, indicate ?Yes? on Service report and DESCRIBE IN DETAIL the
follow up Service and contact office to confirm next day scheduled Service (INCLUDE PART NUMBERS
and/or any relevant information).
? If further Service is required, and the customer expectation is you will be back the next day, confirm with
scheduling before advising the customer. Or have the customer contact scheduling for an update.
? Work with office staff and managers to resolve parts requests and Service problems.
? Work with Selway phone support, trainers & Service engineers to help resolve problems and equipment
? Work with vendors to get information (part numbers/prints) needed to resolve issues with machines and
to get information to resolve machine problems that need the manufacture's support to resolve.
? Install new equipment, perform full data back up and turn in 100% of machine install checklists, including
data sheets. Machine warranty is dependent on this information. Turn in these reports at the end of each
install to appropriate individuals defined by management
? Continue to develop knowledge and skill set.
? Follow all safety procedures, example: (lock out, tag out)

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment
This job operates primarily in a shop/manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard mechanical/electrical equipment such as hand tools, meters, test bars and inspection tools.

Physical Demands
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, drive. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist frequently.

Ability to travel long distances; overnight travel may be required

Must possess valid driver?s license

Must be able to show proof of citizenship or right to work in US.
