Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services, located in Richardson, Texas is looking for candidates to join our world-class engineering team as level one Software Engineers. As a candidate for this opportunity you should have a good foundation in one or more software development languages, preferably Java, and be able to use various software tools on HP or SUN workstations in a Linux or UNIX environment. The candidate should have a fundamental understanding of basic software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering (including software development lifecycle and software development process) and Object Oriented analysis, design, and programming.

Work as a software developer and integrator as part of a development team which utilizes a diverse dynamic workforce, including many experts in their fields. Specific duties include:

  • Responsible for performing development, integration, test and documentation duties to ensure proper operation of hardware and software platforms
  • Integrate a wide variety of applications from various sources, integrate and ensure they meet performance standards for stability and resource utilization
  • Develop software as necessary to integrate between components, perform new capabilities, to facilitate testing, etc.
  • Adhere to accepted standards for development, including writing unit tests which provide a high percentage of code overage, participating in code peer reviews, conducting design reviews, and generating test scripts to ensure maximum stability and quality of code
Required Experience:
  • 1+ years? hands on experience
  • Software development experience with Java
  • A good foundation in Linux (Red Hat) or UNIX
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance - TS/SCI

Desired Experience:
  • Java Server side SW development experience using Eclipse or JBoss
  • Experience with Spring Micro services
  • Experience with Cloud services implementation
  • Experience with software development tools such as the Atlassian tools suit; (Crucible, FishEye, Bamboo, Clover, Jira, Git and or Mercurial)
  • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Hudson/Jenkins or Cruise Control
  • Experience utilizing standard databases such as Oracle or non-standard non structured SQL based databases
  • Experience with test driven development utilizing tools such a cucumber

Required Education:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering; or a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physics or Math or other Engineering disciplines. Recent Grads (graduated within the last 18 months) should apply to University Program requisition 102108BR.
