This position will be responsible applying engineering principles and techniques to solve practical problems associated with data collected from fleets of complex machines such as airplanes and helicopters. The applicant is expected to collaborate with data scientists, engineers, software teams, management, and other stakeholders to conduct data wrangling / mining, perform exploratory analysis, use mathematical theories and techniques to build and test models, generate visualizations, and create & present reports.

Basic Qualifications
Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline from an accredited college.

Must be comfortable writing code for data analysis (preferably with Python or Java).

Minimum of 3.0 GPA

Desired skills
The ideal candidate has an engineering background with a hacker's mentality who is hungry for solving real problems in aerospace. They strike a balance of understanding how systems interact while having the willingness to write code.

? Experience statistical analysis, signal processing, mode detection, data mining
? Familiarity with Hadoop / MapReduce, Pig, Hive, and Spark
