Summary of Role: As the most senior member of the Production Team on this shift you will be responsible for the safety and management of the Nightshift Team within Circuit Card Assembly and Program Production Cells in order to meet Production output and quality targets set. Working with the Weapons Operations Manager and the wider manufacturing team you will be responsible for the setting and delivery of the goals, objectives and behaviours for the manufacturing team under your leadership.
Responsible for delivery and reporting of manufacturing targets set for Nightshift. This will include making decisions in avoiding or minimising interruption to Programs.
Manage and report on nightshift operator utilisation weekly resolving any issues that are escalated to you.
Manage any equipment breakdowns or line stop events with the relevant support teams.
Chair Tier 1 and 2 Accountability Meetings.
Represent Nightshift at Management Reviews.
Lead and support improvement activities and mentor 6Sigma specialists.
Responsible for managing safety standards within a manufacturing area to support site safety targets.
Carry out and support Safety and 5S+ Audits on Nightshift.
Maintain ESD and safety (PPE) disciplines.
Management of staff ensuring insuring company policies are adhered to.
Identifying and co-ordination of training for direct staff.
Ensure compliance with all EHS requirements, Risk and COSHH assessments and any EHS-related duties included in the role.
Define goals and objectives for Nightshift staff and carry out mid-year and year end performance appraisals for all direct staff reports
Point of contact for IT related issues and resolve or escalate where required.
Essential: HNC/HND in Management OR a Supervisory or management position in a complex operation. IT literate ? SAP, excel, word, powerpoint Strong Organisational skills Effective communicator across all levels of the business.
Electronics Production experience.
Demonstrate from previous work experience that the key responsibilities are proven.
Effective time management for self and team
Confidence and reliability to promote a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing function.
