ManTech is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to provide support to current projects on our MCTSSA Camp Pendleton, CA contract.
Assess the technical impact of military interoperability data initiatives using research and analysis capabilities and participation in on-going working group meetings.
Prepare assessment and meeting reports, white papers, and presentations to communicate research and analysis results, including status, impacts, and recommendations.
Contribute to the analysis, design, development, and verification of messaging data models and schema representations for increased interoperability between tactical military information exchanges.
Collaborate in the design and development of interoperability messaging specifications and standards, including, but are not limited to, National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) and various tactical military message standards.
Analyze messaging meta-data and content schema models encoded in XML or JSON.
Collaborate with user community to define Information Exchange Requirements (IER) and Commander?s Critical Information Requirements (CCIR) for new and existing messaging capabilities.
Work with program and team leads to identify requirements, and assist in the design and development of standards-based solutions.
Meet challenges with resourcefulness; generate suggestions for improving work; develop innovative approaches and ideas; take calculated risks; present ideas and information in clear, concise ways.
Provide technical guidance to customers and team members.
Provide analysis of documentation and technical discussions for the impact of technical decisions on the interoperability and performance of Marine Corps Command, Control and Intelligence Systems.
Mandatory Skills Requirements:
8+ years of relevant experience.
Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Practical experience with inter-system communications and application messaging protocols, to include object serialization in XML, JSON, or binary formats.
Experience with message schema modeling and the representation of data concepts using XML Schema.
Good understanding of various data modeling, data storage, data search and discovery paradigms.
Exposure and interest in various technology specifications and guidelines from organizations such as W3C, OGC, Oasis, NIEM, IETF, ISO, DoD, and NATO.
Familiarity with various XML standards, JSON Schema, JSON-LD, DCAT, NIEM, GML, OWL, RDF, UML, and various data architecture open standards, models, encoding formats, and guidance.
Tested technical leadership through effective interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communications.
Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical leadership and professional audiences.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience in data model design, mapping, and transformation using tools such as Oxygen XML, Altova XML Spy, or Altova MapForce.
Familiarity with tactical military messaging standards (e.g. Link-16, VMF, USMTF), and tactical military operations and intelligence Systems.
Understanding of cloud and distributed Systems principles and experience with large-scale, ?big data? methods.
