JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Exciting opportunity within the Service & Critical Support Division of M.C. Dean in Northern Virginia. The ideal candidate will be someone with an exceptionally strong Fire Alarm system background and be able to fulfill all the required duties of a Senior Fire Alarm Service Technician.
?This candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, have exceptional computer skills, and have a strong sense of self reliance.
?Must possess the ability to troubleshoot complex networked Fire Alarm/mass notification systems with limited or no supervision.
?The ideal candidate must possess a valid driver?s license and must be able to operate a MC Dean vehicle as
part of this job requirement. Upon release to operate an MC Dean vehicle the candidate may be asked to perform troubleshooting and repair of various Fire Alarm system types with limited or no supervision. Will require some overtime hours at night, on weekends and at a moment?s notice for emergency calls.
?Our future service Technician may be sent to construction jobsites to assist our Electrical Construction Division in troubleshooting large scale networked Fire Alarm/mass notification systems for extended periods of time and must be flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, work assignments, and other interruptions that may impact pre-established courses of action for completing or progressing with projects and assignments.
?Our candidate must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance level. Successful candidate must be willing to travel both within the United States as well as abroad for periods of up to 90 days to act as lead Technician or assist other lead technicians on Fire Alarm projects.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

?Technician SKILLS REQUIRED:
?Four (4) to five (5) years Fire Alarm industry experience and training with a High School diploma OR two (2) to three (3) years experience and specialized knowledge with an Associate's Degree.
?Extensive knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, Fire Alarm System Theory, OSHA Requirements, and Industry Standards for Fire Alarm systems installation.  
?Exceptional ability to trouble shoot circuitry and equipment, experience with conduit bending, understanding of blue prints and wiring schematics and layout of system installations. 
?Ability to perform intermediate level calculations including:  Battery, NAC panel and system standby. 
?Experience with a variety of system manufacturers including Notifier, Siemens, EST, Gamewell, Honeywell, etc.
?Proven ability to not only lead but also teach other junior technicians and apprentices.  
?Ability to operate various types of  test equipment including audibility and  intelligibility test equipment .  
?Experience with MC Dean Operational Risk Management and QA/QC Programs.  
?National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), Fire Alarm Systems, Level II and the ability to obtain Level III certification within one year of employment.
?Must be able to obtain a US clearance
?Ability to possess Top Secret clearance within one year of employment.

?NICET Fire Alarm Systems, Level III 
?Certification in programming Notifier Oynx Series Fire Alarm systems
?Knowledge of and capable in using AutoCAD
?Knowledge of Notifier legacy systems (AFP-100, AFP-200, AFP-400, AFP1010 AM2020)
?Certification in programming Vesda Air Sampling systems
?Troubleshooting experience with Simplex, Siemens, Edwards (EST2 and EST3) 
?The desire to continually improve his/her knowledge of Fire Alarm system theory, adapt to changes and improvements to system architecture and possess the skill set to gain NICET Level IV in Fire Alarm systems
?Top Secret Security Clearance 
?Valid Passport?
