Plans, coordinates and tracks quality improvement activities for the R&D organization. This role serves as the R&D liaison to the Quality and Consumer Affairs teams across assigned product platforms. Guides R&D teams in writing product specifications to ensure the highest possible product quality.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop quality work plans for various product platforms and/or plants, track and report progress.
Assist with development of gold standard product specifications for assigned product platforms in collaboration with R&D.
Connects R&D with quality and supply chain partners to drive quality initiatives.
Develop specification templates for assigned platforms or products.
Guide and support R&D in translating consumer needs to product specs through a technical brief and other R&D tools and ultimately to quality attributes.
Guide and support R&D & Quality in implementing all quality and sensory specifications for assigned platforms or plants.
Work with R&D and Product Lifecycle Management to develop specification templates for assigned product platforms.
Train R&D on quality index, gold standard specifications & sensory specifications.
Support Product Excellence programs and training rollouts as well as maintenance.
Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:
Bachelor of Science degree with minimum 5 years relevant work experience in the CPG industry. Food Science degree preferred but not required.
Experience in specification writing.
Oracle knowledge & experience preferred.
Experience in Product Development and/or Quality Assurance preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead projects with minimal direction or supervision.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
Exposure to manufacturing environments for periodic extended work days to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, and slippery conditions.
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
Ability to lift 25-50 lbs
Ability to stand for sit or stand for extended periods of time
