Job Summary
The Consumer Affairs Representative I is responsible for the effective resolution of Consumer contacts via inbound contact methods (, email, letters, etc.). Individuals in this role will interface with consumers, customers, outside agencies and other ConAgra Foods representatives in resolving product concerns and inquiries and to collect information, which aids in root cause identification and resolution. Representatives will identify and communicate trends in Consumer contacts to internal customers within ConAgra Foods. Must live within 50 miles of Omaha and have access to reliable high-speed internet and phone service.
Position Responsibilities
Respond to inquiries and complaints received from consumers via various inbound contact methods and negotiate mutually satisfactory resolutions while exercising good judgment and exemplary customer service skills.
Thoroughly and accurately document records of Consumer contacts in specified Consumer reporting database
Provide resolution to complaints by obtaining all pertinent information and preparing written correspondence to consumers according to established guidelines.
Effectively manage conflict situations and respond to consumers with empathy and professionalism.
Manage intensely sensitive or delicate situations in a manner by which preserves or improves the company image.
Educate consumers on food safety and quality by promoting proper and optimum use of products. Promote other ConAgra Foods products when appropriate.
Coordinate product retrievals and / or digital photographs with Consumer and initiate follow up as needed.
Assist in supporting continuous improvement opportunities.
Other activities as directed.
Position Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.
Minimum 2 years experience working in a CPG company or Quality Assurance, Research & Development or Customer Service environment preferred.
Must be able to provide a safe and professional dedicated work environment, free from background noise and distraction.
Must live within a 50 mile radius of Omaha, NE.
Must currently have or be able to obtain reliable high-speed internet access and phone service.
Must possess effective and diplomatic written and oral communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of computer operations required.
Ability to efficiently dictate from verbal communications (typing skills)
Familiarity with Consumer communications software, customer database operations and corporate web sites preferred.
Familiarity with products and ConAgra Foods is desirable.
Strong analytical/ problem solving aptitude.
Ability to sit for duration of shift
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
