Fire Protection Engineer
? Kirtland AFB, New Mexico
This position is contingent upon contract award
Essential Responsibilities :
Lead the development of work processes, tools, and knowledge resources that support the fire mission
Lead the establishment of guidelines and processes used for technical requirements, fire control, documentation
Maintain documentation supporting fire engineering design
Lead key engineering efforts to include code compliance and safety standards

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Shall have and maintain professional registration as an engineer under the requirements of the New Mexico State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors (http://www.sblpes.state.nm.us/), based on having passed the Fire Protection Engineering exam (see http://ncees.org/engineering/pe/, NMAC 188.8.131.52 and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 3-600-01 with Change 2 Fire Protection Engineering for Facilities, paragraphs 2-1.15.2 through 2-184.108.40.206).
Shall submit a written copy of the Qualified Fire Protection Engineer (QFPE) resume indicating education, professional registration and work experience, along with a letter attesting to their compliance with the requirements of UFC 3-600-01 with Change 2.
Currently holds a SECRET security clearance.
Licenses/Certifications: Professional Engineer preferred
