Functional leader for the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Engineering organization, reporting into the Electronic Engineering directorate. Organization is geographically diverse with design centers in three time zones (West, Mountain, East). Support all Lines of Business as well as other business areas, providing a range of products from rapid prototyping to space/flight qualified PCB designs. Ensure program requirements are met by PCB engineering. Ensure that the PCB organization is resourced, trained, and satisfies organizational PCB needs. Oversee the planning, training, and development of PCB design personnel resources. Perform PCB cost estimation, printed wiring board sizing, and design functions as required to support program activities. Identify and propagate technology selection and best-practices, ensure technical domain expertise of the entire team, drive process improvements and tool development/deployment, resolve critical technical issues, and ensure metrics are collected and used for continual process improvement. Demonstrate Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors. Support Central Engineering to define staffing requirements, training requirements, and develop mentoring programs and career path opportunities for personnel within the organization. Direct, coordinate, perform and exercise authority of staffing requirements and actions, employee job assignments and rotations, merit increases, promotions, compliance & skills training, and performance assessment, and recognition & disciplinary actions. The successful candidate must also have ability to organize, motivate and lead groups of PCB design personnel. The candidate may get special assignments either to work on a special task force or to lead them. Actively work with outside groups (Corporate Engineering, Other Business Units, Standards Organizations, Tools Vendors) to shape the future of the PCB organization.

Basic Qualifications
Minimum 5 years detailed design experience in an engineering discipline (example: Circuit card Design, Printed Wiring Board Design, Mechanical Box design, FPGA/ASIC design, Embedded Software Design)

Functional or project leadership experience

Desired skills
Knowledge of PCB fabrication and manufacturing processes

Experience with space and flight PCB requirements and design processes

RF/Analog PCB Design Experience

Collection, analysis, and reporting of various metrics for engineering process improvement.

Participation with other organizations related to engineering (Example: Mission success, Quality, Planning, Corporate Engineering)

Integration and Test Experience

Proposal support experience (Example: Cost Estimation, Technical Writing)

Scripting or demonstrated automation of processes.

Evaluation and selection of engineering tools

Presentation experience to senior leadership. Ability to summarize and communicate to upper levels of management on progress/status of programs and/or the organization.

Control Account Management and Technical Project leadership experience

Configuration Management of design artifacts
