Database Developer

The database developer?s role will be to maintain and modernize a Legacy production database/User application.  The application/database combination is deployed to multiple field offices.  The developer will work with the team to maintain the database and application across the organization, while ensuring high levels of data availability.  The developer will also evaluate and advise on all technology components, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities, for database management systems and applications.  This role will be responsible for participation and working as a team in implementing this new subset; and ensuring that all users can successfully obtain the data to complete their job successfully.


Knowledge of MySQL and SQL Server 2014

Design and deploy data table structures, forms, reports, and queries

Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts

Coordinate and work with other technical staff to develop relational databases

Identify inefficiencies in current databases and investigate solutions

Diagnose and resolve database access and performance issues

Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems, using various data file extensions

Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases

Develop and maintain database stored procedures, views and functions for hosted web applications

Ensure all database systems meet business and performance requirements

Produce ad-hoc queries and develop reports to support business needs

Create and maintain technical documentation

Implement data dashboards to display data in differing formats


Bachelor?s degree in Information Systems/Information Technology or equivalent

5-8 years of experience working with the following technologies:  MySQL, T-SQL and SQL Server

Must be good at solving problems in a fast paced environment

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to interface with all levels of employees throughout the customer Division to Higher Leadership

Goal oriented and a self-starter, able to prioritize and organize own work

Preferred Knowledge or the Ability to Learn
