Become part of our team as an in-country engineer for the KF-X effort. This program provides technical assistance to Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) to develop an advanced, multi-role fighter for the Republic of Korea Air Force. This position will be located in Sacheon, South Korea, and responsibilities include:
? Design criteria - Review dynamic loads criteria (Airworthiness, structural design criteria, etc).
? Dynamic Loads Analysis (Dynamic Response Analysis):
- Consult across the entire dynamic loads analysis procedure.
- Review the ground rules for store loading configurations for dynamic loads analysis.
- Review and estimate the dynamic loads analysis model and results for:
* Store ejection, buffeting, wake encounter, Power Spectral Density/discrete gust.
* Dynamic landing, bumps and dips during taxi, arrested landing.
- Review and support the selection of critical load conditions and external loads mapping methodology.
- Prepare for design reviews related to dynamic loads, and plan ahead what to do and how to handle the dynamic loads issues for ground/flight test.
In addition to strong technical skills, the candidate should have a track record of success working in diverse groups where attention to the customer is paramount. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert and train and mentor customer engineers. Upon selection, the candidate will receive details of the long-term benefits package associated with this international assignment.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Candidate must be able to relocate internationally.
The successful candidate will have the following:
? Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college
? 7+ years related experience to dynamic loads on high performance aircraft
? Experience mentoring or training engineers on diverse teams
The following are desired:
? Over the fifteen years? experience in managing design criteria and conducting the dynamic loads analysis for high performance fighter airframes, and leading the airframe-scale development project.
? Ability to thoroughly review and make recommendations for KAI?s dynamic analysis model and results. KAI uses Fortran and Matlab as programming languages, NASTRAN/ZAERO as aeroelasticity solvers, and VI-Aircraft as landing simulation solver. Experience in these tools is a plus.
? Exceptional interpersonal skills
? Experience with military or government programs
? Experience working with international customers, particularly the Korean Government or culture
? Experience with Export Control Compliance
