F-35 Manufacturing Engineer for J860 aircraft mate build team. Primary responsibilities include maintaining manufacturing plans, process standards, tooling requirements, engineering change implementation, and process improvements.
This includes but is not limited to determining root cause of non-conformances, implement Corrective Action, investigating tooling issues, assessing and providing tooling corrective action, initiating tooling rework activities, tool trial run and providing technical support to the Production team.
Provide technical assistance to leadership, supervision and mechanics to ensure all product is processed in compliance with engineering and specification requirements, provide work around plan development as required and support improvement initiatives or constraint resolution. Actively participate in the mate performance management team (PMT) and own and manage improvement initiatives.
Position is for 1st shift but may require 2nd shift support after 3 months.
Some weekend and overtime support required in this position.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
-Bachelor's degree in a technical related field
- Experience reading engineering blueprints and tool designs.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with F35 structural assembly, system installation, designs, tooling, tooling processes and assembly processes.
Knowledge of LM Aero F-35 Systems (CATIA, PDM, VAS, QADS, SFM, CAPP, ICA), Lean Principles, Continuous Improvement.
Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action experience. Knowledge and experience using advanced metrology systems and analysis software.
Project management experience
Prior experience of Fighter aircraft (5th Generation) Low Observable coatings and related manufacturing processes desirable.
Possess strong problem solving skills
