Systems Engineer position within the Project ORION Avionics, Power and Wiring (APW) IPT. This Individual will work under the mentorship of the Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) lead engineer and document and maintain the avionics requirements, define and describe APW subsystem internal and external interfaces, and define mission event sequences. In addition, this job entails coordinating directly with the NASA customer and CPEs across the subsystem and across other system, hardware, software, and ATLO IPT elements.
? Must have a Bachelor?s degree in an engineering/technical discipline
? Knowledge of office software is required
? Strong communication skills on both a technical and non-technical level is required
? Ability to manage work effectively and perform to established schedule
? System Engineering experience
? Familiarity with the spacecraft design, systems engineering process, including requirements development, design, verification and test
? Flight hardware/software integration experience
? Familiarity with the unique aspects of spacecraft design and manned systems is desired
? Experience with system engineering management tools (DOORS, CRADLE, RHAPSODY) is a plus
? Knowledge of the concepts surrounding Model Based System Engineering is desirable
? Network Engineering including open standards and layer 3 switching
? Experience with Integration, Test, and Verification
? Avionics component hardware requirement development experience especially related to:
- Communications and Tracking
- Command and Data Handling
- Guidance Navigation and Control
- Environmental Control and Life Support
- Displays and Controls
? Experience with build in house and external contract procurement
? Experience with FPGA component integration
? Electrical signaling expertise including RS-422, LVDS, Space-Wire, and discretes
? Direct Orion experience a plus
