PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

Reporting to Maintenance and Tool Room Manager, this position will develop die layouts, flat blanks, strip layouts
and any other information necessary to support New Product Development, Application Engineering, and existing manufacturing in the ECN Press Room. This will be in support of new tooling builds, and will also include working with Tool Room personnel to help maintain and improve our fleet of over 500 existing progressive dies for the CADDY
brand of fasteners, and work effectively with outside tooling suppliers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Use AutoCAD 2D to develop die layouts, flat blanks, strip layouts for the ECN Press Room
? Work with Tool Room personnel to help maintain and improve existing progressive dies
? Work with outside tooling suppliers to ensure compliance with CADDY Die Spec
? Reverse engineer and create drawings for existing tooling
? Design, develop, and manufacture tooling and fixtures needed for prototype fabrication
? Work with Product Development, Applications Engineering, and Tool Room personnel to provide feedback on manufacturability of concepts and lead time estimates
? Order raw materials and consumables for tooling and fixtures
? Participate in Kaizen events
? Understand and effectively applies standard drafting practices
JOB CRITERIA:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
? High school diploma or G.E.D required
? Journeyman Tool & Die with progressive stamping die experience, knowledge repairing, trouble shooting
? existing dies, and new die builds for spring steel, pre galvanized, stainless and plain mild steel materials ranging from 0.025? - 0.375? thick
? Strong mechanical aptitude with good problem solving skills
? Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication ? progressive die tooling experience required
? Ideal candidate will have knowledge of presses used for progressive dies

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
? Knowledge of drafting standards and metal stamping processes
? Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD 2D (familiarity with SolidWorks a plus)
? Familiarity with MS Office suite (Excel, Word), general computer proficiency.
? Ability to read/interpret drawings
? Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships across functional areas
? Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstances/priorities
? Ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment
? Good communication skills
