To be part of the AMA is to be part of our Mission to promote the art and science of medicine and the betterment of public health. Join the AMA team as Marketing and Sales Director in the Education Center. As part of the team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies that achieve mission, strategic and revenue objectives for the AMA Education Center delivery platform, products and services. You will initiate and organize marketing and sales practices and will be accountable for the launch of individual and group subscription models while driving year over year growth in sales and usage.

Other Responsibilities will include:

? Strategy
o Develop comprehensive marketing and sales strategies and plans that drive awareness, sales and engagement of educational products and services for individuals (B2C) as well as groups (B2B). Develop clear and compelling positioning, messaging, models, pricing, audience segmentation and targeting strategies based on market research.
o Work with key stakeholders to define, launch and continuously improve a multi-sided business model that achieves mission, strategic and revenue goals. Analyze market trends and customer feedback and monitor competitor products. Research and develop strategies for new and expanded market opportunities. Leverage market and customer insights to provide input into business model, product and content development and delivery, and the external content provider strategy. Provide recommendations in anticipation of and/or in response to changing market and competitive conditions.

? Implementation and Operations
o Plan and oversee the execution of marketing and sales strategies and tactical plans that drive growth in awareness, sales and usage. Develop and manage budget. Define and implement effective operational processes that support achievement of goals.
o Oversee the development of Education Center collateral and ensure consistency and alignment with AMA marketing practices.
o Develop and coordinate sales and renewal methodologies. Develop, manage and follow up on leads and execute proposals and contracts. Maintain accurate records of all sales activities. Work with tools and resources, including Salesforce to create and maintain information on all potential sales. As the Education Center evolves, may be responsible for building a sales team.
o In collaboration with the Content Acquisition Manager, provide marketing and sales support to launch and grow the external content provider channel. Participate in planning and in negotiations with other organizations.

? Evaluation and Reporting
o Develop marketing and sales objectives and forecasts. Develop and maintain reports to communicate and evaluate impact of marketing and sales activities. Review and analyze performance against programs, plans and objectives to determine effectiveness. Take corrective action to achieve marketing and sales objectives. Prepare and present periodic reports showing sales results and areas of potential expansion.

? Relationship Management
o Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to identify intersections across sales and marketing programs. Ensure appropriate coordination and/or integration with other AMA and JAMA Network sales and marketing programs. Identify opportunities, accountabilities, and timelines for priority intersections. Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners; represent and promote the Education Center at various industry events.

REQUIREMENTS:

? Minimum of a Bachelor?s degree required; business, marketing or communications major required. Advanced degree preferred.
? Ten years of sales and marketing experience; in a service, software and/or health care setting preferred. Proven B2B and B2C marketing experience required.
? Experience in leading work teams to include sourcing and selecting, developing and coaching, rewarding and recognizing, and optimizing talent, required.
? Demonstrated experience directing and building sales plans. Prior experience managing or coaching sales professionals.
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to develop relationships. Proven ability to present offering using persuasive techniques tailored based to audience.
? Excellent strategic thinking and business management skills. Demonstrated experience in researching new markets, forecasting, pipeline development, quantitative/qualitative campaign analysis experience and budgeting.
? Results driven with demonstrated experience in setting and tracking goals, and managing staff to achieve them.
? Strong consultative selling, persuasion and negotiation skills.
? Excellent project management skills, including the ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and prioritize work.
? Some travel required.
