Lockheed Martin is seeking a Safety Engineer to implement safety program at the Anniston depot operations to facilitate safe employee and work operations and prevent or correct unsafe working conditions, using knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, psychology, and industrial health and safety laws. Responsibilities include:

Participates in depot facility planning and explosive site plans, to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and effective integration of depot workload requirements and engineering processes.

Determines if all safety precautions have been included.

Tours HMD depot facility to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Coordinates with program Quality, LSE Safety Officer, Troy Safety, MFC Safety and ESH organizations.

Basic Qualifications
-Must be a US Citizen and also must obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting.

-Experience and knowledge of Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) and Explosive Program Management.
-Knowledge of and experience with ATF requirements defined in 27 CFR 478/479/555.
-Experience in designing and implementing efficient, effective processes and procedures across multiple disciplines with consensus from key stakeholders.
-Demonstrated ability to team customers, internal and external operational and functional support organizations to achieve effective, efficient and compliant ESH and Explosive Program Management processes.
-Highly effective project management skills, including experience building successful relationships within a team either as team leader or participant to achieve goals and execute deliverables.
-Ability to plan and execute data analysis in support of tactical and strategic decision making.
-Demonstrated capability in managing multiple projects/tasks, effectively prioritizing tasks, communicating project/task status and ensuring timely closure of assignments.
-Capability to contribute in regular depot operations work in addition to safety duties.
-Effectively utilizes Microsoft Office products and SharePoint to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult ESH and Explosive Program Management issues.
-Must have strong written and verbal communication, prioritization, strategic, and problem-solving skills.

Desired skills
-Understanding of Integrated Safety Management to include experience with hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation and associated deliverable documentation to key stakeholders.
-Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts, in the field of explosive program management:
-Explosive storage requirements.
-DoD explosive requirements as defined in the DoD 4145.26M.
-Explosives Site Plan development.
-DOT, ATF and DoD requirements associated with shipping and receiving of explosive and residue explosive materials.
-Integrating explosive requirements into company procedures.
