Prepares cost estimates for varied proposals, including components, parts, or an entire complex instrument such as a complex electronic system. Works from preliminary or final drawings and from partial or complete engineering information. May estimate labor costs, type of tools required and cost of such tools. May determine whether component parts would be manufactured or purchased. May review designs with engineering department and suggest changes to lower costs or facilitate manufacture. Operate personal computers or LAN terminals using both commercially available and internally generated software. Estimates must be sufficiently accurate to be used as a basis for sales price commitment or the adoption of, or determination of, new apparatus designs.

Basic Qualifications
- Familiarity with Sourcing operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and other PC applications.
- Good interpersonal skills and combined with ability to work effectively under time constraints essential.
