Nestle Purina is expanding! Introducing Nestlé Purina?s newest factory in the U.S. ? in Hartwell, Georgia ? just shy of 110 miles northeast of Atlanta. We?re opening a state of the art distribution center in 2018 and production facility in 2019 ? our first new factory in over 20 years! We?re thrilled to be joining the Hartwell, GA community and to welcome as many as 240 new members to the Purina family by 2023. Over more than 100 acres, this 500,000 square foot facility will serve as our most versatile facility with the ability to switch product lines faster and more efficiently than we have ever done before producing and distributing the Purina brands our customers trust and pets love.
As the Safety, Health, Environmental Engineering Manager, you?ll be a critical leader in establishing and maintaining the Safety-first culture Nestle Purina has long recognized. Implementing plant-wide initiatives, which includes compliance in Safety, loss control and environmental regulations at all levels of the plant, is just the start of how a collaborative Safety professional will impact the success of our larger business. We?ll rely upon your expertise to facilitate a proactive factory Safety environment in our Hartwell Factory.

Develops Safety and Health programs, systems and processes, including Training and coaching to establish clear expectations and procedures.
Provides technical expertise/coaching as needed in all areas and initiatives of the function. Partners with other key functions on initiatives including Engineering, Operations, Quality, Nestlé Continuous Excellence, etc. to deliver on goals and plans.
Leads the effective implementation and utilization of risk assessment and risk prediction processes to ensure effective at identification, communication and mitigation of workplace hazards.
Responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of the local capital budget for continuous improvement and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
Ensures Safety inspections and observations are conducted and make technical recommendations for Safety improvements throughout the plant.
Directs the installation of new equipment and/or modification rearrangement of existing equipment for assigned projects. Approves installation of new equipment with an emphasis on Safety.
Responsible for all outside contractors to assure compliance with all company standards including Safety, sanitation, quality, productivity and budgeting.
Implements and maintains the Safety Management System and OSHA record keeping and internal reporting as required by the Nestlé Purina Pet Care Safety Management System (SMS).
Organizes, coordinates, and conducts Training for Safety Committee on Safety topics and current Safety programs in the plant.
Administration responsibilities regarding documentation for accident / incident investigations, and follow up, health and Safety related issues.
Utilize Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) principles, tools, systems and processes to enhance performance. Develops and leads the Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) pillar for the site implementation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
Bachelor?s Degree Engineering
3+ years of experience in Professional Safety and Health programs
1+ years of leadership or management
