Manages activities concerned with the installation, operation, and maintenance of buildings, equipment, utilities, structures, grounds, and roads. Ensures building integrity and maintenance of electrical, water, and air systems and other real property. Oversees maintenance of facility grounds/landscaping. Supervises numerous subcontracts.
The building engineer is responsible for managing staff to include engineering and maintenance personnel. Manage building electrical, plumbing, telecommunications, fire control facilities , video security and HVAC systems. Provide and track yearly engineering and maintenance budgets. Review, critique and work improvement construction packages. Interface with local government agencies such as Fire, Elevator and Safety inspectors.
Job includes travel domestic and foreign.
7 or more years experience
Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) preferred
International Facility Management Association (IFMA) preferred.
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering preferred
