Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs. Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. Completes risk analysis studies of new design and processes. Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives. May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks. As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability. May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data. Provide reliability assessment on various US Navy Systems to NSWC Corona in support of the Material Readiness Assessment (MRA) various reliability databases. This position will require the ability to apply electronic and/or mechanical engineering principals and perform systems and sub-systems (combat, weapons, and hull & mechanical equipment) analysis to determine root cause failures; ability to implement and create cost effective solutions while still maintaining customer requirements; ability to multitask and overcome obstacles; familiarization with product reliability; ability to process and create technical reports; ability to present reports using Power Point; ability to create charts and trends using Excel sheets. Provide support to the Material Readiness Database acting as subject matter expert on various U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E)and/or Combat Systems related systems in the areas of editing Fleet failure data, technical analysis, failure classification, research and cross reference of technical data, and preparation of data for input. Perform file verification, data validation, update and maintenance. Technical support is also required at customer and ISEA program reviews.Individual must be well organized, have a "can do" attitude, be able to work with minimal supervision, and have an attitude to always go above and beyond what is required. 

Candidate must possess or be able to obtain a SECRET clearance.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BS or equivalent + 5 yrs related experience, or MS + 3 yrs related experience
