The Deployment Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily executional, tactical, and rules-based deployment team activities from Plant to DC and DC to DC and exists within the transportation organization. Working closely with the transportation execution team, the Supervisor will oversee the execution of the distribution plan through regular deployment activities while minimizing distribution costs and optimizing payload with service. Supervisors are expected to provide Deployers with appropriate training, tools, mentorship, and support to effectively perform deployment activities to meet internal and external customer expectations and requirements. The Deployment Supervisor is also responsible for facilitating team meetings and driving cost savings & efficiency initiatives. The Supervisor may also be required to backfill Deployer responsibilities, for unexpected absences.
? Oversee and manage regular, day-to-day deployment activities
? Encourage and support tight communication between Deployers and other teams including Load Planners, DRP planners & manager, supply planners, and warehouse ops, among others
? Ensure that Deployment personnel receive appropriate training on systems, processes, policies, behaviors, and culture to enable them to provide high standards of services.
? Motivate and inspire team members
? Create a positive and collaborative team environment
? Provide support and input for Deployers for day-to-day business risks, issues and questions
? Support with decision-making and seek input from other teams, where necessary
? Enforce policies and procedures
? Ensure equitable workload distribution within teams
? Support by ensuring processes are adhered and executed to by Deployers
? Ensure truckloads and STOs are created in a timely manner
? Facilitate communication across Customer Service, Planning, and Transportation
? Participate and facilitate team meetings
? Review and monitor KPIs and reports to help drive performance and efficiencies
Human Resource Activities
? Participate in goal / objective setting
? Conduct performance reviews, mentor and coach, and discipline personnel
? Administer staff coverage, PTO schedules, and timecard approvals
? Promote corporate culture which supports team based environment, focusing on CPI, training and development
? Request new employee ID set up and systems access
? Identify system issues and report to super users and/or corporate system owner
? Ensure associates have appropriate software and hardware
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
? Undergraduate degree
? Strong analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret data and build quantitative models of business problems.
? Excellent oral and written skills, organizational and time-management abilities, effective inter-personal skills, and the ability to work with personnel at all organizational levels.
? Flexibility and adaptability to the demands and requirements of a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and priorities.
? Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to complex problems that may not have one clear answer.
? Proven ability to lead, motivate and empower others
? Highly developed change management skills and proven ability to challenge the status quo.
? Relevant supply chain experience (+3 years preferred).
? Prior experience in a supervisory / project management role.
? Proven record in motivating team members and demonstrating strong leadership qualities.
? Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to problem solve and develop solutions to complex problems.
? Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
? Ability to meet the requirements of a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and priorities.
? Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access preferred.
? Knowledge or experience with enterprise resource planning software, preferred (SAP APO, SAP TM)
