Originally producing cereal, the factory became a pet food-only manufacturer in the late ?90?s and as the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S., it carefully produces, packages and ships several varieties of our Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Kitten Chow®, Friskies® and Kit N Kaboodle® brands. 

The Manufacturing Team Lead is responsible for the supervision of the factory?s production departments and the safety, sanitation and working with employees in the manufacturing and packaging of dry pet food products.  The Team Leaders also coordinate all first line functions regarding safety, quality, management of people, and production planning.  It is also vital to this role to foster a safe work environment, ensuring all quality standards are met.  Team Leaders will also be responsible for the proper management of the day-to-day operational issues.  This position will be scheduled for a 2nd or 3rd shift. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise 15-20 hourly employees on the production floor, ensuring a safe and clean environment 
  • Manage production schedules to maximize output
  • Promote a ?Total Quality? theme in the work environment assuring target compliance.
  • Coordinate cross functionally with all team leaders and managers in meeting total plant goals.
  • Confer with engineering and maintenance to coordinate repairs, modifications, etc.     
  • Assist in leading and developing continuous improvement projects
  • Manage data entry, written and oral communication with all departments as required
  • Support the employee development
  • Communicate clearly and concisely the production activities to the other shift Team Leaders
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or maintenance environment 
  • 2+ years of experience in a direct supervisory role
