Position Description
Logistics Trainers, Mentors & Managers (TMMs) Life Cycle Management (LCM) shall train, mentor and manage the Afghan Logistics Specialist (ALS) to a working level knowledge of multi-functional, end-to-end logistics and a wide range of processes IAW training curriculum. 
Principal Accountabilities
  • Train, Mentor and Manage ALSs IAW the training curriculum developed by the contractor and approved by the Government.  Evaluate ALSs performance for determination of status, location of training cells and permanent placement to interface with the Afghan National Defense Security Forces (ANDSF).
  • Advance ALSs through organized and formal training and continue mentoring relationships continuing to train, mentor and manage the ALSs in support of their mission to train and mentor the ANDSF organizations.  
  • Provide reach back capability to support the deployed ALSs.
  • Develop and update training curriculum (annually 30 days before end of the period) for their particular area(s) and provide to Contract Program Management (CPM) for consolidation and submittal to the Government for approval.
  • Provide formal training in life cycle management IAW the training curriculum, to include, but not limited to:
    • Demand based supply
    • Maintenance management processes
    • Resource requirements
    • Cost projections
    • Staff procedures and policies
    • Usage of Afghan decrees
    • Military logistics doctrine
    • Industrial operations
    • Financial management
    • Education and training activities related to logistics and sustainment
  • Subsumed within this requirement are the student management functions, course work and classroom development for selected courses as needed for the ALS. 
  • Continuously mentoring and managing the ALS after they complete training and deploy to their assigned locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Working knowledge of supply/logistics systems with an understanding of logistics and sustainment programs from either a technical or programmatic perspective at a skill level necessary to train the ALS.
  • Knowledge of operational methods of U.S. military.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (WORD, Excel and PowerPoint) and common computer and internet office capabilities.  Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
Experience and Education
  • Four years of experience, conducting classroom training and/or “in the field” training, mentoring and managing subordinates in life cycle logistics/sustainment or automated information management.
  • Master’s degree or higher in a business, logistics/sustainment or other related field from an accredited institution of higher education and 6 years of logistic/ sustainment experience, Supply Chain Management (SCM) experience (operations, warehousing, and logistics), OR upon approval of the KO, a bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher education and 8 years logistics/sustainment experience
  • Must have a final (not interim) DoD SECRET Level Security Clearance before deployment and maintain that clearance.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Must pass all medical and fitness requirements directed by US Central Command (CENTCOM) in order to deploy.
  • Must be able to operate in harsh and austere conditions of Afghanistan
  • Must be capable of daily travel in and around Kabul as well as to locations throughout Afghanistan.
