Description: AIRCRAFT WORKER/UPHOLSTERER
Removes, cleans, reinstalls, or replaces defective parts, accessories, and components. Researches and obtains replacement or repair parts/components
utilizing owner parts manuals or technical orders. Useaircraft parts and drawing to manufacture replacement upholstered items. Operates an industrial grade sewing machine, installs thread, wined bobbin, clean and oil the machine, and make adjustments to the machine for different fabric
thicknesses. Fabricates aircraft insulation panels, aircraft equipment, and support equipment materials using raw measurements, technical drawings, as well as per-sample using sewing machines, a tape measure/rule, and shears. Fits and installs hardware for the purpose of aircraft insulation installation using
common upholstery tooling including but not limited to; punches, awls, grommet/snap setters, hog ring pliers, etc.
Desired Skills: Air Force AFSOC C-130 experience
Active Secret Clearance
Basic Qualifications: Minimum of 4 years' Upholstery experience
Familiar with Air Force 781 aircraft forms
Ability to use and maintain long and short arm
industrial grade sewing machines.
Must have experience with changing and identifying
Ability to work multiple shifts on the flight line, in the
hangar and or upholstery shop.
Work aircraft in multiple locations Hurlburt Field and
Ability to lift 50lbs, climb stairs/ladders, kneels, and
travel short walking distances to access aircraft work
areas, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
