Description: Come be a part of the development of the new Hypersonic Conventional Strike Weapon (HCSW). This new air-launched weapon system will include phases progressing through design, flight test, initial production and deployment of the weapon system. The candidate will be required to design flight hardware mechnical/structural components and subsystems compliant with customer requirements and LMSSC best practices (CIPS) in activities related to developing, revising, and releasing engineering drawings. Proven capability to design using Pro/Engineer or similar design tool; to develop and release engineering designs including CAD objects using EPDM 9.1 processes (or equivalent). Will coordinate engineering design packages with program PMP, stress, systems engineering, checking, manufacturing, product assurance, and configuration and data management as a minimum; specify engineering approvers; change task development in EPDM 9.1 would be a plus but not required. Will implement strict CAD modeling standards; utilize "model-check" tools and resolve design conflicts to meet modeling standards. Will design components and subsystems using interfaces from a master CAD model. Will develop, integrate component and subsystem designs as part of the single master target CAD model. In addition, candidate will be expected to incorporate redlines, complete drawing and model changes, federate parts and materials, and coordinate changes for release in EPDM. The candidate will also be expected to handle aspects of product acceptance reviews and Responsible Engineer (Certified Principal Engineer or equivalent) functions. Some travel may be required. Desired Skills: Mechanical Engineering Degree, Documentation. EPDM Windchill release processes, PMP and SAP.. EPDM 9.1 experience Mechanical/structural design, experience in developing and conducting Engineering Review Boards (ERBs), Material Review Boards (MRBs), and Failure Review Boards (FRBs). Current MRP certification (or equivalent). Mechanical/Structural Principal Engineer (Certified Principle Engineer (CPE) or equivalent) or Principle Engineer delegate. Design mechanical/structural design Documentation per ASME Y14.5 and Lockheed Martin CIPs; Engineering release process (engineering release using EPDM or equivalent); Team oriented, team leadership experience, good time management and communication skills. Microsoft Office Tools. Mechanical design/analysis tool proficiency such as Pro/Engineer, Creo; Pro/Cabling experience; Pro/Piping experience. Ability to travel. Customer interface experience.
Basic Qualifications: 'Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.
Demonstrated experience in mechanical design.
Knowledge of composite structure design and fabrication techniques Highly proficient with mechanical CAD tools (CREO or equivalent), and CM tools (PDM, ePDM)
Highly proficient with mechanical drafting standards and techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel.
Customer interface experience
