Job Description SummaryThe Director, Compliance and Ethics’s primary role will be to continue to enhance, manage and maintain an effective regulatory compliance and ethics program across Conagra Brands’ global organization. The Director will build a best in class compliance and ethics program and have primary responsibility for day-to-day compliance activities and creating and implementing policies, programs and procedures to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct. Based in Conagra Brands’ Chicago, Illinois headquarters, the Director will report to the Vice President and Chief Counsel, Labor, Employment and Compliance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Developing and monitoring the Company’s Code of Conduct and compliance related policies and programs to ensure continuing currency and relevance.
Developing and conducting regular training programs on conducting business within the current regulatory climate, considering applicable laws, rules and regulations, industry standards and Conagra Brands’ processes and policies.
Collaborating cross-functionally with other stake holders (e.g., Risk Management, Internal Audit, Corporate Finance, Information Security, International, etc.) to create effective risk assessment, audit, risk mitigation and monitoring programs.
Tracking progress and conducting ongoing analysis of all compliance initiatives and providing regular reports to senior management on the effectiveness of compliance efforts.
Managing the Company’s ethics and compliance hotline and conducting related investigations.
Managing the Company’s conflict of interest program.
Managing the Company’s third-party intermediary due diligence/anti-corruption program.
Responding to government agency queries and investigations.
Supporting and enhancing the Company’s data protection and privacy initiatives.
Establishing strong working relationships and serving as a strategic business partner to senior management to drive a culture of compliance across the Company.
Educational Requirements & Professional Certifications:
Masters degree or J.D. preferred
CCEP certification strongly preferred
Qualifications and Skills:
7-10 years of professional experience in a global corporate compliance environment. Strong preference for in-house experience developing compliance trainings, policies and programs, ideally in a consumer packaged goods company.
Strong knowledge of SEC regulations, FCPA and other anti-bribery/anti-corruption regulations and experience building and managing applicable risk mitigation programs and strategies.
Experience with GDPR, data protection and privacy program creation strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability in developing and standing up a best in class compliance function.
Self-starter, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and work across corporate functions and geographies to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
Experience interacting with international employee populations and leadership as well as national and local regulators.
Experience in managing ethics and compliance hotline.
Demonstrated success developing and implementing strategic initiatives that align with business goals within budget and established timelines.
Strong business acumen; ability to quickly grasp the business issues and objectives at stake and to simplify complex issues.
Outstanding written, oral, and presentation skills as well as the ability to develop relationships and effectively deal with all levels of management, including Executive Leadership and Board of Directors.
Demonstrated maturity in judgment and ability to conduct complex investigations.
Reputation for the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
