About the Position:
Serve as a sector leader and create a new market vertical Connected Buildings and Cities offerings and grow it into a robust portfolio of various customer centric product offerings for residential, commercial, Institutional and grid scale solutions. Focus on developing solutions at scale taking successful pilots to mass market solutions. Work with industry stake holders to develop market for emerging value of connected buildings and cities.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information and opportunities
Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering, vendors and the delivery groups (where applicable)
Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, product marketing, and vendors.
Obtains product market share by working with sales to develop product sales strategies.
Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.
Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.
Product profitability management, paying close attention to driving up margin.
Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to $100M operating profit goal by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience Required:
7+ years of work experience required; experience in product management in large/complex environments is highly desirable.
Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree strongly preferred.
Experience in and understanding of the US energy sector, regulatory/technology/business issues impacting the utility industry and future trends
Experience in and understanding of connected building solutions including Internet of Things (IoT), Transactive controls, Energy Management Information Systems (EMIS), Smart Analytics and Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS), connected devices, smart city infrastructure.
Ability to develop new product offerings, innovative business models that provide strong customer value propositions
Experience in managing Profit and Loss for portfolio of offerings
Strong acumen for market opportunities and track record of developing commercially successful products and services
Comfortable working in a fast paced environment in a matrix organization and effectively engaging with multiple partners at various levels in the organization and external stake holders.
Strong leader and mentor able to coach diverse set of professionals, aim for continuous development, both personally and for the team.

Job Dimensions:
Team: Collaborate with a total of 10 Product Management Specialists reporting to Emerging Products Team Director
Expertise in financial analysis, market research or technology expertise. Will work closely with other product teams focusing on solar and storage, clean transportation and finance offerings.
Ability to travel up to 40%.
