Operates and drives heavy vehicles, trucks and/or tractor-trailers to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments such as: a source of repair, warehouses, wholesale and retail establishments, or between retail establishments and customers houses or places of business. This driver may also load or unload vehicle with or without helpers, make minor mechanical repairs, and keep vehicle in good working order. Dispatch vehicles, check proper loading and unloading of cargo on vehicles and trailers and secure cargo against inclement weather, pilferage and damage. Operate vehicle component material handling equipment (as required), perform vehicle self-recovery and field expedients to include towing vehicles, conduct Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) (as required), report all vehicle deficiencies and prepare vehicles for movement/shipment by air, rail, or vessel. This operator may also operate heavy equipment such as material handling equipment (MHE), tanks, cranes, clamshells, power shovels, motor graders, heavy loaders, carryalls, bulldozers, rollers, scrapers, and large industrial tractors.

Essential Job Duties:

This driver may also load or unload vehicle with or without helpers, make minor mechanical repairs, and keep vehicles in good working order. May also be required to set up equipment to support training of US Army Soldiers. Dispatch vehicles, check proper loading and unloading of cargo on vehicles and trailers and secure cargo against inclement weather, pilferage and damage. Operate vehicle component material handling equipment (as required), perform vehicle self-recovery and field expedients to include towing vehicles, conduct Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) (as required), report all vehicle deficiencies and prepare vehicles for movement/shipment by air, rail, or vessel.
