Experience with disassembling and reassembling electronic devices such as computers and associated peripherals

Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. GDMS is hiring a Digital Forensics Technician to support a Government contract in Linthicum, Maryland. The selected candidate will conduct imaging and data extraction processes on a variety of media to include mobile devices. The Digital Forensics Technician will enhance their-skill set by working among a talented, collaborative and technically accomplished group of colleagues. Upon hire, the candidate will enter a long-standing mentorship program geared towards conducting forensic imaging and extractions using established policies, procedures and techniques. The candidate will have the opportunity to gain Department of Defense forensic certifications while under mentorship. The work will be performed in a laboratory accredited by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Director’s Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB).
Handle evidence while maintaining the chain of custody
Conduct imaging and data extraction processes on a variety of media including thumb drives, memory cards, hard drives, game systems, and mobile devices
Employ forensic tools and techniques to recover deleted, fragmented and corrupted data from digital media of all types
Conduct examinations on gaming systems and mobile devices
Create detailed notes on processes undertaken
Inventory, disassemble, and reassemble a variety of hardware devices
Testify in federal and military courts when required
