Basic Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
The Engineer interacts with GDAIS clients to recommend and provide information assurance/ security solutions including supporting security engineering and certification & accreditation life-cycle activities; direct experience and/or foundational knowledge wrt intrusion/ scanning/ technology side of the business and involving familiarity with specific information assurance appliances, procedures and policies unique to an IT enterprise, to include a demonstrated understanding of the way various products and services interrelate, is required.
Performs open-source, threat intelligence gathering, vulnerability analysis, and identifies previously undisclosed software and hardware vulnerabilities. Supports technical analysis and exploitation of data from compromised systems. Reads, analyzes, and interprets packet captures using various tool-sets. Develops appropriate mitigation plans to address security conditions.
Team members also develop the verification procedures used in risk assessments, security tests and evaluations. The selected employee will develop various security documentations, including security, configuration management and mitigation/ contingency plans in compliance with Information Assurance policy. It is also the responsibility of the Engineer to conduct risk/ vulnerability assessments.

Develops and implements information assurance/security standards and procedures.
Coordinates, develops, and evaluates security programs for an organization.
Recommends information assurance/security solutions to support customers? requirements.
Identifies, reports, and resolves security violations.
Establishes and satisfies information assurance and security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands.
Supports customers at the highest levels in the development and implementation of doctrine and policies.
Applies know-how to government and commercial common user systems, as well as to dedicated special purpose systems requiring specialized security features and procedures.
Performs analysis, design, and development of security features for system architectures.
Analyzes and defines security requirements for computer systems which may include mainframes, workstations, and personal computers.
Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions that meet security requirements.
Provides integration and implementation of the computer system security solution.
Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems.
Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.
Ensures that all information systems are functional and secure.
Responsibilities for this Position
Candidates must demonstrate a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of emerging technologies, and the ability to effectively manage and protect information systems in a cost-effect manner;
possessing/ applying expertise on multiple key tasks and complex, high impact work assignments.
The Information Assurance/ Security Specialist position requires a bachelor?s degree in a specialized area or field or the equivalent, and a minimum of two to five years of related experience. Applicants with a master?s degree and zero to two years may also qualify.

Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
