Description: As a member of the Operations Labor Estimating organization, this individual will be responsible for developing, analyzing, reviewing, and obtaining approval of Operations labor estimates for multiple helicopter programs. As a member of the Operations Estimating team, you?ll learn a great deal about the elements of the business at Sikorsky ? including how we build the dependable and historic Blackhawk helicopter as well as future development products including the next generation Combat Rescue Helicopter, Presidential Replacement Helicopter, and heavy lift CH53K helicopters.

These activities will include analyzing program requirements, coordinating and preparing labor bases of estimates (BOEs), and supporting internal proposal reviews, customer audit/fact-findings, and negotiations. The individual will work closely with various Integrated Product Team (IPT) personnel to develop BOEs with substantive task descriptions and sound bases of estimates that meet established proposal quality standards. The job requires extensive coordination with the program and functional Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Accounting and Finance organizations. Other tasks and responsibilities may include identifying comparative historical data and developing Cost Estimating Relationships (CERs) that can be used as reliable predictors of tasks to be performed. Also requires interfacing with DCMA and DCAA; presenting estimate data to management; and performing special assignments when required.
Major labor hour estimating tasks include but are not limited to the estimating of helicopter detail parts fabrication, sub-assembly, major and final assembly, and other direct labor areas. Apply investigatory abilities and practices, build social networks
Learn how helicopters are manufactured to be able to explain the details of a particular assembly operation; become a technical expert, be able to clearly communicate technical concepts.
Learn the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) to be able to certify to the Federal Government that estimates are complete, accurate, and correct;
A strongly self-directed individual, and will need to have the ability to know how to proceed when you cannot find the data that you require.

Desired Skills: Systems and Software aptitude ? knowledge of particular software is less important than demonstrated capability to quickly learn new and complex software.
Attention to detail and performance to deadline
Working familiarity with SAP, Solumina, Hyperion, Excel, Access
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) to be able to certify to the Federal Government that estimates are complete, accurate, and correct;
Basic Qualifications: Experience in multiple systems to locate data; databases, business intelligence, accounting and ERP / MRP software.
Industrial Engineering Experience or Qualification.
Statistical firepower ? understand descriptive statistics very well, and have had prior projects that had significant statistical components.
Advanced engineering / systems thinking ? numeric skills, the ability to visualize or otherwise understand complex systems, and think optimization problems are fun.
Quantitative modeling ? demonstrated ability to create complex numeric models.
Build models that accurately forecast labor consumption for future aircraft, based on the actual data collected.
Write narratives that clearly and concisely explain models and estimates.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or training and/or reviewing technical publications.
