As a Pouch Plant Supervisor, you will join our factory in northeastern Pennsylvania, which manufactures ALPO, and Friskies brand canned cat and dog food along with Friskies pouch products. The Production Operator Level 3 / Batch Oven Operator safely and efficiently operates and troubleshoots all equipment relating to the batching and EFC systems in order to produce a satisfactory chunk and gravy product. You will be tasked with safely and efficiently cleaning and sanitizing various areas of equipment as needed using all required protective equipment. In addition you will be monitoring, handling and adding rework product to process as formula allows. This position exists on the second shift. There is potential for overtime, and some weekends are required for this position.
Set up the Selo oven and the equipment for gravy batching, slice and gravy blending, and pumping system to filler.
Enter formula data and adjust speeds, temperature, and amounts as needed to produce a high quality, properly blended product.
Perform microwave moisture testing, record results, and make necessary adjustments to maintain the correct product moisture.
Purge and flush out product lines as needed for product changeovers.
Weigh and mix any additional ingredients that may be required, based on the formulation, to the gravy meat mixtures or incline belt to final mixer.
Manually record various operational data and maintain a detailed log of operation for quality purposes, including downtime reporting requirements.
Determine variation in color, formulation and size and inform supervisor of inconsistencies.
Select preprogrammed recipes from process controllers with proper instruction to deliver the proper formulation, consisting of minor ingredients, meats, and wet ingredients called for by the production schedule.
Diagnose and make minor adjustments to equipment as needed, reporting any mechanical or safety concerns to supervisor.
Monitor, handle, and add rework product to process as formula allows.
Maintain good housekeeping and GMP?s in work area.
Perform other duties as directed by supervision.
Basic Qualifications (Minimum):
High School Diploma or GED Required
2+ years? experience in a manufacturing, production, agriculture, military or related environment
